HBO content now in iTunes with new pricing, NBC next?

HBO content has officially been added to Apple’s iTunes store and with it comes a new pricing model for TV shows.

Shows that will go for $1.99 per episode will be:

• Sex and the City
• The Wire
• Flight of the Conchords

Shows that will go for the new price o $2.99 per episode will be:

• The Sopranos
• Deadwood
• Rome

Eddy Cue, vice president of iTunes, says “we’re thrilled to bring this incredible lineup of programming from HBO to the iTunes Store…these are some of the most talked about television shows ever, as well as some of the most requested by our customers.”

The is the first time TV shows have been priced above $1.99 per episode on iTunes, which was something that NBC wanted before they left iTunes at the end of last lear. With the precident of variable pricing now set, does that mean that NBC content will soon be returning to iTunes?
