Vonage struggling to add new customers
Voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephone service provider Vonage has apparently hit a bit of a wall and has been having a difficult time recruiting new customers.
Last year in their second quarter the company managed to add 56,691 new customers, but in the same quarter this year the number has dropped dramatically to 2,080.
Competition with other VoIP providers could be partially to blame but I’d imagine a bigger reason for the slide is cellphone usage. Many people are choosing to use their cellphone for all of their calling and I’d be surprised if the shift that direction were to slow down.
