Unlocked iPhone 3G owners on Vodafone having trouble after 2.0.1 firmware update
Cell carrier Vodafone offers a unique service for their iPhone 3G devices–for a fee, users can pay to have their devices unlocked which sounds great, right?
Well, yes and no. Unlocked is good, but no being able to use your phone anymore sucks a bit.
Since upgrading to the new 2.0.1 firmware that Apple released yesterday, unlocked Vodafone iPhone 3G owners are receiving a “0xE8000001” error message and are unable to re-connect to the service.
Some, not all, users are able to get their phone working again by restoring their phone. Whether it’s a Vodaphone or Apple bug, hopefully there will be a fix soon.
Vodafone sells the iPhone 3G in ten different countries right now so this could be a big problem.
