When the next James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, opens in May it won’t have the over the top gadgetry of the older films but it will feature lots of action, a new watch (most likely an Omega) and a new limited-edition cellphone by Sony Ericsson, the C902.

Features of the limited-edition C902 will be the same as a standard C902:

  • Support for EDGE, GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, UMS 2100, HSDPA
  • 2-inch TFT QVGA screen with 240 x 320 resolution about to display up to 262,144 colors
  • 160MB built-in memory
  • Support for Sony Memory Stick Micro (M2) up to 8GB
  • 5-megapixel camera with photo flash, 2.5x digital zoom, auto focus, face detection and image stabilization
  • Accelerometer
  • FM radio
  • Up to 9 hours of stand-by time

The limited-edition James Bond version also includes some special James Bond content such as 007 screensavers, wallpapers, a James Bond mobile theme, a Quantum of Solace trailer, behind the scenes interviews, footage from the movie, and a game called “Top Agent”.

Unfortunately it will NOT have GPS and Wi-Fi support so if those matter might want to look elsewhere.

The limited-edition C902 will be released in Q4 of 2008 in select markets though it’s not really clear at this point what those markets will be, what the exact release date will be and what it will sell for. Look for more info later this year, probably around the time the movie opens.
