Nintendo announces new MotionPlus add-on for Wii
If you’ve ever played a Nintendo Wii and found the sensitivity of the motion sensing a bit jerky, good news–Nintendo’s new MotionPlus add-on for Wii Remotes should help.
The new MotionPlus snaps into the bottom of a Wii Remote controller (the same place you would connect the Nunchuck accessory) and it alleges to provide “an unmatched level of precision and immersion.”
If it works as advertised it will supplement the exiting accelerometer and sensor bar means of tracking the Remote’s movement and allow for a 1:1 motion.
If you’re worried about no longer being able to plug in a Nunchuck controller, it appears that there is a plug on the end of the MotionPlus so it looks like you will be able to use both at the same time.
Look for more info to come out tomorrow, including (hopefully) a release date and price.
