AT&T announces pricing for iPhone 3G, plans

The iPhone 3G’s release is coming on July 11th and instead letting us speculate about the pricing of voice and data plans for the iPhone 3G AT&T has gone ahead and released that info.

Thinking about picking up an iPhone 3G?

Now you get a good idea how much it will cost you both upfront and monthly on your cellphone bill.

First, the device itself.

New customers and those eligible for an upgrade can get the 8GB for $199 and 16GB for $299 (with a 2-year contract, of course).

Not eligible for an upgrade yet? You’ll need to pay $399 for the 8GB or $499 for the 16GB version as well as a $18 upgrade fee. Maybe this isn’t new but I missed this little bit of info until now…might have to change my purchase plans–no way I’m paying $200 more for being a loyal customer.

If you want to pickup an iPhone 3G without any contract you’ll be paying $599 for the 8GB and $699 for the 16GB version.

Okay, now on to the plans. Courtesy of Engadget, here are the pricing plans in a couple of easy to digest tables.
