Microsoft stops shipping Windows XP to most PC makers
Today’s the day–Microsoft set June 30th as the deadline when PC makers will no longer be able to offer Windows XP except for low-cost UMPC’s like the Asus Eee PC and MSI Wind.
Support for XP is a different story–Microsoft announced several days ago that they would be support XP through at least 2014 so you won’t see it hit end of life anytime soon.
According to Microsoft, there just isn’t enough customer demand for them to continue to offer XP and people will now be getting their very own copy of Windows Vista with a new PC purchase.
Please try and not get too excited.
