Chevy Volt gets priced
Chevy’s upcoming plug-in hybrid called the “Volt” has been making the rounds as a concept car, showing up at a few select spots across the country, and now the Volt has gotten a little closer to reality.
This morning Chevy announced that the car will be debuting for around $40k and it seems that it’s still on track for a 2010 introduction.
In case you’re not so familiar with the Volt, a hybrid designed to be plugged into any 110-volt electrical outlet for charging and can travel up to 40-miles round trip using no gas and producing no emissions.
For longer trips, the Volt has a FlexFuel engine that can run on gas, E85 ethanol, or a combination of the two, and creates additional electricity to extend the range to 640 miles and triple-digit MPG.
