Vista could cost Microsoft $395 million in the next year
According to Bernstein senior analyst Charles Di Bona, Microsoft can expect a sharp drop in revenue in their fiscal year 2009 (starting in July) thanks to Vista to the tune of an estimated $395 million.
In May, Bernstein conducted a web survey of 372 IT professionals, and according their their results just 26% of them expected their PC’s to be running Vista by 2011, a big drop from last years figure of 68% by that same year.
Di Bona says, “it seems like the IT community has turned tepid to negative” on Vista. “There aren’t any features in there they find compelling–even ones that haven’t had bad PR.”
Some legacy Ballmer’s working on, huh?
