Microsoft releases public beta of Windows Home Server Power Pack 1, fixes data corruption bug

Remember that bug with Microsoft’s Windows Home Server from way back in December that could potentially cause data corruption when saving certain programs?

Looks like Microsoft has finally been able to fix it and have released the fix in a public beta of Power Pack 1 for Windows Home Server available via Microsoft Connect.

Other changes that are part of Power Pack 1 include:

  • Support for PC’s running Windows Vista x64 editions
  • Backup of home server Shared Folders
  • Easier, enhanced remote access capabilities
  • Better energy efficiency
  • Improved performance
  • Chinese and Japanese versions
