Details of Guitar Hero IV released
The next installment in the Guitar Hero series of games is on its way later this year and Activision is starting to talk details.
One of the biggest changes can be seen right away–the addition of a drum controller, bass controller and a microphone. Sounds a lot like Rock Band, huh?
One of the new features will be the ability to create your own songs using the games instrument controllers (sorry, no vocals), add a song name and album art, and upload your song to a central server where other other players can check out what you made.
The drum controller in Guitar Hero IV have larger, quieter pads than Rock Band’s and the heads are velocity-sensitive which could be cool if its used properly in the game.
The title will also have a detailed character creation engine, more so than is included in Rock Band.
Activision has released a trailer for the game which you can check out here, but it doesn’t show any gameplay–just people using the new instruments.
