Dell combining XPS, Alienware teams
When Dell acquired high performance desktop and notebook PC maker Alienware in March of 2006, some people wondered what would become of Dell’s own XPS line of computers.
Although a story in the Wall Street Journal talked about the end of the XPS line, according to a post at Dell’s official company blog that’s not true…or at least its not the whole story.
Dell will be combining the development teams from both Alienware and XPS “to make Alienware a fantastic global brand that sets benchmarks for gaming.”
The XPS, however, isn’t going away according to the post but “may go in new directions as hinted by the XPS One [all in one PC] and the slimline XPS m1330.”
