Foxit Reader updated to 2.3, adds tabs

foxit_readerIf you need a PDF reader for Windows, forget the bloated Adobe Acrobat reader–Foxit Reader is faster, free, and has just been updated to include a few new tricks.

The biggest addition in the new version 2.3 is the inclusion of tabs, allowing you to open multiple PDF files in different tabs of the one application the same way Firefox (among others) let you do this with web pages.

Also new in version 2.3 are:

  • Bookmarks
  • Multimedia playback in PDF files (please, please don’t let embedding media into PDF files catch on)
  • Text tool for adding comments to documents
  • Rules for helping align documents
  • Magnifier for zooming into parts of a document
  • Automatic scrolling
  • Improved ability to print just a part of a document
