Electronics and more coming to Zappos
Online retailer Zappos has announced that they will soon be launching a new interface that will allow users to buy way more than just shoes.
The company will initially test things out with roughly 1,000 users and assuming that goes well they will develop a formal rollout plan.
The new interface will include new categories like small electronics and cookware.
Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh says that they are “experimenting with a lot of other categories.”
By the end of 2008 Hsieh hopes to be selling footwear, apparel, sunglasses, watches, bags, bedding/linens, cosmetics, luggage, and electronics.
Hsieh added that “long term, our plan is to not have any sale items on Zappos…we want it to be more of a premium brand for customers who value service over anything else.”
