Google to sell off part of DoubleClick
When Google announced that it was buying online ad company DoubleClick some, like Microsoft, weren’t so pleased with the news.
The FTC and EU might have been a bit concerned initially as well, but each has approved the $3.4 billion acquisition.
Even with the deal approved, Google has announced that it would sell off the search marketing portion of DoubleClick.
This division, called “Performatics”, is being split off and sold to help convince users that ads accompanying search results won’t be influenced by a conflict of interest.
