Everex bumps Cloudbook specs and announces Cloudbook MAX

everex_cloudbook_maxEverex announced today that it will be releasing an updated version of it’s Cloudbook UMPC dubbed the Cloudbook MAX.

What makes the Cloudbook MAX better than the previous model?

Quite a bit, actually.

Features of the Cloudbook MAX will include:

  • 1.6GHz VIA C7-M ULV processor
  • VX800 digital media IGP chipset which supports DirectX 9 and accelerates MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV9, VC1 and DivX video
  • 8.9-inch WVGA (1,024 x 600) LCD display
  • 80GB hard drive
  • 2GB of DDR memory
  • Built-in support for Sprint’s XOHM WiMAX network
  • 802.11b/g Wi-Fi
  • Audio in/out
  • S-video out
  • Bluetooth
  • Integrated GPS receiver
  • 2-megapixel camera
  • Four hour battery life

Not bad for a little guy…but Windows Vista? Are they really putting Vista on there? Should be interesting to see how it performs.

No pricing or exact release info is out just yet, but expect it late in the year (if they manage to get it out this year at all).
