Roughly 30% of Vista crashes in 2007 were because of NVIDIA drivers

Its no secret that Microsoft had a rough 2007 with the launch of Windows Vista not going off quite as planned, but some news that’s starting to come out is making the story interesting again.

According to Microsoft data, 28.8% of the 1,663,748 Vista crashes logged in 2007 were the result of NVIDIA driver problems. If you look over the data you’ll quickly see that those numbers put NVIDIA 10.9% ahead of Microsoft.

Does that mean the Vista launch is not Microsoft’s fault? Of course not, but it does show that they’re not the only ones to blame…at least when it comes to crashes. Everything else about the launch is still their fault.

This is coming out now because of the Vista Capable lawsuit.
