Sony hasn’t officially killed off the 80GB Playstation 3 just yet, but signs seem to point to it going away soon.
Ars Technica has gotten in touch with their rumor mole and found out even more good stuff about the Playstation 3.
Its not JUST the 80GB version that is leaving us–the 40GB bundled with Spiderman 3 will be going away as well once the 80GB unit is gone.
In its place will be a new Playstation 3 SKU with a larger hard drive–120 or 160GB–and it will come with the new DualShock 3 controller. You know–the controller that will bring the rumble feature to the Playstation 3 controller.
The 80GB won’t last long in retail if it really is going away, so we should be able to confirm or shoot this rumor down fairly soon…
